BUCKY 15

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2024

Starting and Ending in Cross Plains, WI we make a loop of just over 100 miles of road and trail through the beautiful countryside encircling Black Earth, WI.  We try to make the ride more trail than road, connecting properties of gracious landowners who provide us the woods and fields with the fun twisty roads at the entry to the driftless region. Lunch is held north of Mazomanie with a nearby gas stop approximately at the 50 mile mark.  Leg distances can be up to 70 miles if you utilize the longer sections of the ride (hero sections marked with red arrows).  The event is one day with Free Camping (primitive) available on Friday and Saturday nights.  Sound check is performed Friday night and Saturday morning.  All bikes must pass the 96db or lower test to ride.  All registrants must be ACTIVE AMA members.  See the photo section in the menu above for previous ride photos.

This event is pre-registration only. If you are thinking that you might like to try it, you will want to be ready to preregister for the ride when registration opens.  We’ve sold 250 spots in 15 minutes in years past.

AMA membership is REQUIRED for the Bucky, so if you’re not a member yet, go to https://www.americanmotorcyclist.com and join so you can ride the Bucky!

  • The ride will consist of various off-road sections and loops tied together by scenic, twisty, fun paved roads. Note: This event is not set up for the big “adventure” type bikes.
  • Off-road portions are designed to be fun for a variety of skill levels, and will be a mix of two-track, fields, and single-track.

  • We STRONGLY recommend that your bike is  <400 lbs, but feel free to add challenge!
  • Lunch on the trail and supper at the finish is included.
  • GPS Tracks provided about a day prior, to contain latest route changes.  No roll charts provided.
  • And a T-shirt, woo hoo!

    OHM Permit
: Note that a WI OHM/ORV Trails Permit is not necessary, though it is very much encouraged as it directly supports the development of more OHM trails in our fine state! It’s really starting to show with successful trails like Tigerton, Conover Tamaracks, and Black River Falls. See https://dnr.wi.gov/topic/ohm/ for more info on the Trails program and to get your permit.
